‘Unfinished Business’ –Solskjaer Speaks On Potential Man United Return Amid Crisis

Translate

Former Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken about the possibility of returning to the Old Trafford as pressure builds on Michael Carrick following an alarming nine-game winless streak, the club’s longest since 1988, which leaves the Red Devils sitting 17th in the Premier League.

With four losses in their last five games and reports hinting at a possible board intervention during the upcoming international break, Carrick is facing severe scrutiny heading into next weekend’s clash against Aston Villa.

When questioned about stepping back into the hot seat, Solskjaer acknowledged feeling a sense of unfinished business at Old Trafford.

“Going back to what has been is not always as good,” Solskjaer said. “I also feel like I have something unresolved. Of course it would have been nice to have the opportunity again.”

However, the former Red Devils manager was firm in his support for Carrick, dismissing active thoughts of taking over.

“If Michael does well for 10 years and decides to quit, and they ask me if I can take them for two months, of course I wouldn’t say no,” Solskjaer noted.

“But it’s not something I’m thinking about. Michael has what it takes to take that club forward. He understands the club, understands the fans, and knows what’s needed.”

Solskjaer, who managed 168 competitive games during his first spell in charge, led United to a Europa League final and their best Premier League finish of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
