Snap settles social media addiction lawsuit, averting trial

Translate

Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, has reached a settlement in a social media addiction lawsuit, according to lawyers for the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs had alleged in the suit that Snapchat was designed to be addictive. The announcement comes just days after Meta also agreed to settle the case.

Terms of the settlement were undisclosed, according to the spokesperson for Morgan & Morgan.

TikTok and Alphabet, owner of YouTube, also settled with the plaintiffs.

Snap did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
