Gracie Abrams Channels Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Romeo + Juliet’ For ‘SNL’ Halloween Performance

Translate

As Gracie Abrams celebrated Halloween with Saturday Night Live, she gave viewers a 2-for-1 costume special during her performances.

The 2x Grammy nominee channeled Baz Luhrmann‘s Romeo + Juliet (1996) as she serenaded the Studio 8H live audience, dressing as Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes’ doomed lovers from the ultra-stylized adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy.

For her first performance, “Hit the Wall” from her third studio album Daughter from Hell, Abrams donned Danes’ angel costume from the movie, beginning the song from behind an aquarium.

Later in the episode, Abrams sang “Here You Come, There You Go” from the deluxe album, while sporting DiCaprio’s tropical button-down shirt with the metal sleeves from his suit of armor costume.

In addition to marking Abrams’ second time as Saturday Night Live musical guest after her 2024 debut, this weekend’s episode also served as Inde Navarrettes hosting debut.
