Cruyff Drops Major Hint On Arokodare’s Permanent Ajax Move

Translate

Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff has hinted that the Dutch giants are prepared to turn Tolu Arokodare’s loan spell into a permanent transfer, revealing that key financial and contractual details have already been agreed.

The Nigeria international joined Ajax from Sky Bet Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan during the summer transfer window.

Arokodare has quickly established himself as an important figure in Amsterdam, making an impressive impact since his arrival.

The 25-year-old striker has recorded 10 goals and three assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for the former European champions.

His loan agreement reportedly includes an option to make the transfer permanent for a fee close to €20 million.

Cruyff Speaks On Arokodare’s Future

Cruyff has now provided a positive update on the striker’s future, confirming that the major details of a potential permanent move, including his salary, have already been settled.

“Everything has already been arranged. His salary too, although he did ask for a pay rise at the last press conference,” Cruyff told Ziggo Sport.

“He’s doing well. I remember that when we signed him, there was a lot of talk about him coming from a relegated team and all that usual chatter. But he has settled in very well.

“He has a good mentality, he’s a team player, and that’s important. I hope he continues like this. Strikers have their ups and downs.”

Cruyff’s comments suggest that Ajax are well-positioned to secure Arokodare’s long-term future, with the striker’s impressive performances strengthening his case for a permanent stay in Amsterdam.
