While we're all collectively holding our breaths and patiently waiting for Grand Theft Auto VI and/or The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake to drop, PlayStation is giving us some much-needed distractions. No PlayStation Plus subscription required either. This game is free to play and looks like an absolute blast. If you're tired of doom-scrolling on your phone, why not pick up the controller, connect with some friends and enjoy some chaotic fps fun on PlayStation 5.
Free-to-play games are a dime a dozen these days and not all are made equally. Knowing which games are worth your time can make a real difference and, thankfully, developer Invisible Walls has the experience to bring chaotic fun to our screens. Having previously worked in collaboration with Ghost Ship Games to bring new content for the amazing co-op shooter, Deep Rock Galactic puts them in a great space to deliver a PvP shooter of their own. Best of all, you can try out their free game right now over on the PlayStation Store as it released September 29, 2026.
NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare is a multiplayer party brawler where you get to team up with friends, protect your home and deal some suburban justice to your annoying neighbors. The game features build mechanics similar to Fortnite but where they differ is in the arsenal of weapons at your disposal. Everyday objects can be used to unleash the hurt on your neighbors. Everything from golf clubs, trash cans and vacuum cleaners are fair game. Use everything you can get your hands on to take out your rival neighbors. A perfect game to play for free on PS5.
NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare also features a prop hunt mode, robot horde mode and a defend your castle mode. You also have some building mechanics and can fortify your defenses, board up your house windows, set traps for unsuspecting invaders and generally let your imagination bleed into the on-screen chaos. If all that sounds like too much, you can just set up an all-out brawl. No houses, no rules, just you, going ham on your pesky neighbors. What a slobberknocker!
Not only is NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare free to play on PlayStation, but it's also cross-platform. Whether you're on PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, you don't need to miss out on the fun. Play with your friends with cross play and experience the cartoonish hyper-violence for yourself. All creative gameplay styles are supported, so if you want to play defense, you can fortify your house, board up windows, set traps for attackers and more. Or, if you'd rather play offense, then go forth and try to demolish the enemy's house like The Hulk when he's hangry!
NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare is crammed full of fun and destruction. Now that it has gone free-to-play across PCs and consoles, there really is no reason not to jump in and give it a try. A great way to kill some time while we wait to learn about all the new features in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. So fire up your PlayStation 5 or console of choice, reach out to a few friends and while away an afternoon firing baseballs at an unsuspecting granny. NEIGHBORS: Suburban Warfare is out now!
