Guy Pearce Reunites With Andrew Baird for Irish Thriller ‘Bottle’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Guy Pearce and filmmaker Andrew Baird will reunite for their fourth film, an upcoming Irish thriller titled “Bottle.”

The actor will play Jimmy, a historically violent pub owner who traps a troubled young man named Cillian after he breaks into his bar in search of a pint. As Cillian fights to survive the night, he begins to piece together exactly why Jimmy is holding him against his will.

“‘Bottle’ brought to mind the classic crime films of the ‘70s, such as Peter Yates’ ‘The Friends of Eddie Coyle,’ with a similar DNA to John Hillcoat’s ‘The Proposition,’ which Guy starred in,” Baird said. “What separates this from my previous pictures is that it is inherently Irish and lives in a very dark, traumatic and bruised world, reflecting an old Ireland that I know very well and grew up in. It has never been captured in this way before on film.”

The film will shoot on-site in Ireland with a screenplay by Roberto Forte and Eamonn O’Brien. Marco Gomez serves as executive producer, with FJ Productions’ Fabio Golombek and Shannon Alexander producing alongside Samson Films’ David Collins.

Pearce previously collaborated with Baird on “Zone 414,” “Sunrise” and “The Marshal,” which is set to release in 2027. The actor most recently starred in Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars” alongside Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley and Josh Brolin. The film brought in $8 million domestically during its opening weekend despite costing over $80 million to produce.
