Klopp calls up 44 players in two squads for first matches in charge of Germany

Jurgen Klopp has called up 44 players in two seperate squads as he begins life as Germany manager with four UEFA Nations League matches.

Germany faces Netherlands (September 24), Serbia (October 1), and Greece twice (September 27 and October 4) in the upcoming international break.

The extended squad is expected to enable Klopp to manage the minutes of key players including Kai Havertz and Florian Wirtz, who are not expected to play more than two games in a busy schedule.

A number of players with limited or no international experience including Elversberg midfielder Felix Keidel and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Younes Ebnoutalib have been called up.

However, there is no room for top-scorer from the FIFA World Cup 2026 Dennis Undav, Galatasaray winger Leroy Sane, or Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross.

UEFA Nations League rules allow teams to make any number of changes to their squads provided a list of 23 is submitted before midnight ahead of each game. As a result, Germany will employ one squad for the Netherlands and first Greece match, and another for the Serbia and second Greece match.

• Defenders: Hennes Behrens, Yann Bisseck, Nathaniel Brown, Max Rosenfelder, Nico Schlotterbeck, Jonathan Tah, Phillip Treu, Josha Vagnoman.
• Midfielders: Nadiem Amiri, Bambase Conte, Yannick Engelhardt, Chris Fuhrich, Serge Gnabry, Lennart Karl, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala, Felix Nmecha, Kevin Schade, Anton Stach.
• Forwards: Younes Ebnoutalib, Kai Havertz.

• Goalkeepers: Noah Atubolu, Finn Dahmen, Jonas Urbig.
• Defenders: Waldermar Anton, Ridle Baku, Finn Jeltsch, Maximilian Mittelstadt, David Raum, Nico Schlotterbeck, Malick Thiaw.
• Midfielders: Karim Adeyemi, Mika Baur, Tom Bischof, Said El Mala, Serge Gnabry, Brajan Gruda, Vitaly Janelt, Felix Keidel, Jamal Musiala, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Derry Scherhant, Florian Wirtz.
• Forwards: Jonathan Burkardt, Nick Woltemade.
