City Boy Movement expands network across 4,522 polling units in Jigawa ahead 2027- Coordinator

The Jigawa State chapter of the City Boy Movement has announced the establishment of grassroots structures across all 4,522 polling units in the state’s 27 Local Government Areas.

Speaking to journalists shortly after a meeting with local mobilisers, the state coordinator of the movement and Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Aliyu, outlined the group’s election preparations.

He noted that the movement is also actively working to woo members of opposition parties into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mr Aliyu pledged to mobilise two million votes in Jigawa State to secure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi. To ensure seamless networking and grassroots engagement, he explained that operational structures have been established across state, local government, ward, and polling unit levels.

Under the strategy, he said five mobilisers have been selected for each of the 4,522 polling units in the state. “These individuals are tasked with conducting house-to-house campaigns highlighting the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration.

“So far, so good. We have created all the structures for the City Boy Movement in Jigawa—from the state level down to the polling units” Mr Aliyu stated.

“With at least five representatives per polling unit, we have a total of 22,610 personnel consulting and campaigning to guarantee the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Malam Umar Namadi in 2027. We are fully prepared.”

He expressed confidence that the APC structure in Jigawa State will deliver the votes required to secure victory for both leaders.
