‘Go Vacation on Location’ with Hollywood Location Managers in New Expedia Video Series (EXCLUSIVE)

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board is launching a new movie-tourism video series, “Go Vacation on Location” in partnership with Expedia to spotlight the city’s most visitor-friendly filming locations.

Hosted by real Hollywood location managers, the videos will show tourists and film fans around Los Angeles.

“Location scouts and managers are among the most important members of our industry’s creative teams and our communities’ best storytellers,” said writer and co-producer Harry Medved. “It’s a pleasure to help L.A. Tourism shine a spotlight on our unsung local heroes, bring them in front of the cameras and highlight their outstanding work in keeping production at home.”

The series will kick off with videos hosted by “La La Land” and “Jumanji: Open World” location manager Tristan Daoussis as he leads viewers around a downtown Los Angeles movie tour anchored by the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Kelly Harris (location manager of “Bel-Air” and “Melrose Place”) will show fans L.A.’s beaches on film, centered around the Venice boardwalk. Scott Trimble (location manager of “Transformers” and “Star Trek”) will explore the San Fernando Valley on film, starting at the Valley Relics Museum.

“Los Angeles is the original set-jetting destination, with an unparalleled connection to the films and television shows that inspire travel around the world,” Eileen Hanson, chief marketing officer at L.A. Tourism, said. “We’re excited to tap into this growing trend by giving visitors a deeper, more authentic way to explore our city through the locations they have fallen in love with on screen. By partnering with the professionals who help bring these stories to life, we’re not only encouraging visitation to Los Angeles but also championing an industry that supports thousands of local jobs and remains central to our city’s economy and identity.”

Expedia is the official “set-jetting” travel booking partner. L.A. Tourism partnered with members of the Location Managers Guild International as hosts to show viewers locales made famous by productions shot here.

The videos are produced by Black Buddha Media Group, led by production head Herbie Wei and written and co-produced by Medved and Harry Pallenberg, creators of PBS SoCal’s Emmy-nominated “Locationland” series.
