Coronation Street reveals Sally Metcalfe's Halloween intruder in early ITVX release

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Tuesday's episode (27 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.
Coronation Street's Sally Metcalfe receives a huge fright tonight, when an intruder breaks into her house. After a series of spooky incidents, terrified Sally tries to defend herself, before the culprit is revealed...
The episode begins at the Metcalfe house, with Sally explaining that their foster child Shanice Michaelis is feeling unwell. Tim offers to stay home but Sally tells him to go to The Rovers' Halloween party with Joanie Michaelis and Lucy Parkinson.

Lucy is still annoyed that Sally wouldn't let her go to her friend's party, but agrees after some coaxing from Tim. Meanwhile, Joanie is panicked to discover there's been a riot at her dad's prison, and fears he might try to escape again.
Lucy stirs the pot by reminding them that Mick tried to kidnap Shanice last time. But Tim assures Joanie that they would've been contacted if her dad had escaped.
The kids and Tim get ready for the party, leaving Sally alone to watch Shanice. As soon as they go, the house is hit by another spooky power cut, with the lights flickering on and off.
Later, Sally hears a commotion and sees a ghostly figure standing ominously outside the house. She's startled by a knock at the door, before the figure jumps up and scares her through the window.
Sally relays what happened to DS Lisa Connor-Swain, while Carla comforts her shaken-up friend. She explains that she wouldn't usually be scared but is feeling on edge due to the prison riot.

"Let me put your mind at rest there, because I was at Stoneway earlier. The place is in full lockdown. Nothing is going in or out," Lisa assures her, adding: "There's been no reports of any major security breaches."
As the night continues, Sally experiences more spooky happenings, including phone calls with no one speaking. She tells the person on the other end that she isn't scared and has a weapon, before picking up a nearby vase.
Another power cut plunges the whole street into darkness, leaving Sally even more terrified. When the intruder – dressed in a ghost costume – appears behind her, she screams and smashes the vase over their head.
Meanwhile, Tim notices a number of missed calls from his wife and Lisa encourages him to check in. But when he rushes home, he sees Lucy with a bloody wound on her head, claiming Sally assaulted her during her prank.
"It was a joke. It's Halloween! I'm not living with her. She could've killed me!" Lucy screams. "You're just like her. You're just like my mum!"
How will Tim react to this latest showdown? And has Sally finally had enough of Lucy's antics?
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
