Kenya Power announces planned electricity maintenance across several counties on September 30

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance in parts of Nairobi, Kakamega, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Nyeri, Embu and Kitui counties on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

The scheduled interruptions will take place at different times depending on the affected areas, with customers advised to make the necessary arrangements before power is switched off.

Nairobi Region

Several parts of Nairobi will experience interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Riverside Drive and Mzima Springs

The maintenance will affect parts of Riverside Drive, Riverside Gardens, Mzima Springs Road, part of Tende Drive, Riverside Lane and surrounding areas.

Other affected customers include Strathmore High School, IOM Mzima Springs, Mandari Kindergarten, the German Embassy, Uganda High Commission, Riverside Square, One Riverside, Riverside Mews, Millennium Apartments and Key Stone Office Park.

Mombasa Road

Maintenance along Mombasa Road will affect REREC Offices, Nice & Lovely, Manchester Knight, Viraj Complex, Crown Health, Auto Express and Total Petrol Station, among adjacent customers.

Serena Hotel and St Andrews

Customers along Nyerere Road, Mamlaka Road and Upper State House Road, including Serena Hotel and neighbouring areas, will also experience an interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Raphta Road and Lantana

The outage will also affect Raphta Road, Consolata Church, Lantana Road, David Oseile Road, Church Road, part of Mahiga Mahiru, Ring Road Westlands, East Church Road, Fox Close and part of Mvuli Road.

Other affected facilities include Rehema House, Oracle, Kipro Centre, Waridi School and Chandarana Raphta Road.

Western Region

Kakamega County

In Kakamega County, maintenance in Khayega will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Iguhu Hospital, Khayega, Makhokho Secondary School, Shishesia, Ivonda and Shirere, alongside adjacent customers.

Kisumu County

In Kisumu County, customers in Tido will experience an interruption from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected locations include Tido Primary School, Mbeme Primary School, Ooko Market, Kolewe and Rarieda.

Maintenance in Cibo will run during the same period and affect Tamu, Cibo, White Coal and Kibos Industries, among adjacent customers.

South Nyanza Region

Homa Bay County

In Homa Bay County, maintenance around Yala Kotieno will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Yala Kotieno Secondary School, Kalanding Secondary School, Ong’amo Dispensary and Rangach Madiny Village.

Migori County

Parts of Kehancha and Ntimaru will experience an interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include the whole of Kehancha Town, Kegonga, Ntimaru, Wangirabose, Senta, Kebaroti, Nyamagagana, Namba, Taranganya, Angatta Sugar, Kobinto, Kebare, Matare, Maeta, Kurutiange and Kombe, as well as Koromaguncha and adjacent customers.

Mt Kenya Region

Nyeri County

Maintenance in Miiri and Kiangai will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Miiri Market, Miiri Kiawaiguru, Kiangai, Maganjo, Kiangai Market, Kianyange, Kiangai Coffee Factory, Kianwe, Thunguri Coffee Factory, Borokelo, Karerahungu, Njumbi, Kiahiti TBC, Kiriko TBC, Gitundumo TBC, Kiambogo Village and Kiaragana Village.

Customers around Major Seminary will also experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Judge Mukunya, Karson Estate, Gachengo Family and Catholic Hostels.

Embu County

In Embu County, maintenance in Gachoka, Meka, Muraru and Rwika will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected customers include Embu Airstrip, Don Bosco, Jeremiah Nyagah Technical, Gachoka Market and DO’s offices, Kuku Afya, Kangeta, Fides, Highland Canners, Gachuriri Market, Yonder Water Pumps, Rugakori Primary School, Kamucinga, Muraru Market, Muraru Primary School, Meca Market, Kangungi Primary School, Mbita Primary School, Kamwimbi Primary School and Emidan Farm.

North Eastern Region

Kitui County

In Kitui County, maintenance in Kangweni, Nzangathi and Kanzauwu will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Kangweni, Kivumbuni, Kwa Makombo, Nzangathi and Kanzauwu, alongside adjacent customers.
