The WPL 2027 mini auction was held on Wednesday, October 28, in Kochi ahead of the fifth edition of the Women’s Premier League.
Two-time champion Mumbai Indians made a string of budget buys, adding them to the core group of players which was retained ahead of the auction.
The most notable player released by the Mumbai outfit was India youngster G. Kamalini, a wicketkeeper-batter. Her absence has been filled by the acquisition of Vidarbha ‘keeper Latika Inamdar. MI’s other buys included Disha Kasat, Shweta Sehrawat, Bharti Rawal, and Akshita Bhagat.
The presence of USA pacer Tara Norris, who was traded in from the UP Warriorz, allows the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side the option to field five foreigners in a match, as per the Associate nation player rules.
