Maja rues PSG defeat, backs Le Havre to improve
Super Eagles striker Josh Maja has expressed disappointment following Le Havre’s 5-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 on Friday, but insisted his side would take the positives from their performance against the French champions, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
“We are disappointed; it was a very difficult match against a very good team. We will take the positives, and we will see for the next match,” Maja said, as quoted by Planetepsg.
The Nigerian forward also acknowledged that PSG punished Le Havre for failing to capitalise on their scoring opportunities.
“We had some good moments and good opportunities to score, but they noticed immediately,” he added.
Maja gave Le Havre an early lead in the 18th minute, finishing from close range after Rayan Fofana’s delivery, but PSG fought back through Mika Godts, Achraf Hakimi’s hat-trick and Senny Mayulu to secure the victory.

The goal was Maja’s fourth in Ligue 1 this season, taking his tally to three in his last two appearances after he scored twice in the 4-3 defeat to Marseille five days earlier.
Looking ahead, the former West Bromwich Albion striker expressed hope that Le Havre would make a stronger start in their next outing.
“Football changes quickly; I hope that next time we’ll manage to score before the opponent,” he concluded.
