It's really hard to stop The Walking Dead in its tracks. The show has been on a monumental run, breaking cable TV records and keeping viewers invested for over a decade. It's not just the original comics and TV show that are still in the public eye, either.

Through multiple spinoffs featuring characters like Michonne, Rick, Daryl, Maggie, Negan, and others, The Walking Dead extended its lifespan beyond the original show. That doesn't even include the other side projects that have raised the franchise's profile, like TellTale's legendary adventure game series.

Thanks to a new official announcement, we now know exactly what to expect from Rick Grimes' return in The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival.

Rick Grimes leading survivors through a forest in The Walking Dead

As core characters that have been in the show for ages, you'll battle across arcade-like levels in The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival. This is primarily based on the "All Out War" storyline from the original story, as you attempt to work through the Savior's conflict, and visit memorable locations like Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Sanctuary.

Teased bosses include Winslow, the Well Walker, and the Saviors (including Negan and Simon); as well as tons of classic walker designs. The game also offers multiple difficulty levels to encourage repeat runs, including an optional easy mode.

Here's what you can expect from this arcade adaptation of the hit series: "Fight walkers as Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, and unlockable Negan in a brutal arcade brawler set in the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Face ruthless enemies like the Saviors and overwhelming walker swarms as you unleash relentless combos, signature weapon attacks, and crushing finishers."

The Walking Dead_ Streets of Survival - Office

The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is out today, and you can try a free demo if you're on the fence. It includes 45 minutes of gameplay, one boss fight, two playable characters, and a level set in the sewers of Alexandria. Controller support is included if you're curious.

The full version of The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is slated to arrive on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 1/2. It's also Steam Deck compatible.

Again, it's tough to truly count out The Walking Dead in just about any medium. Games are still coming out for it (even in VR), and more TV adaptations are on the way. It's become AMC's Game of Thrones-esque go-to, and there might be no end in sight to more stories featuring Rick and his gang of survivors.
