Translate

MELAKA: The Bukit Katil seat will see a four-cornered contest in the Melaka election, following the completion of the nomination process this morning.

Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari, the Pakatan Harapan candidate, will face three challengers in his bid to defend the seat in the Nov 14 election.

The Amanah vice-president will take on Pas candidate Muhammad Ridzuan Mohd Sarif, Bersama candidate Dr Aliza Che Amran and independent candidate Abu Bakar Sabudin.

The four-cornered contest was confirmed by Bukit Katil Election Commission returning officer Shaifulfazlee Mohamad at 10.44am.

In the 2021 state election, Adly retained the seat for a second term in a three-cornered contest involving candidates from Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional.
