Drake Bell has cleared up one of the oldest debates in Nickelodeon history, and a lot of fans are about to find out they've had it wrong since childhood. Appearing on N3on's stream, the actor and singer was asked whether the famous line in theDrake & Josh theme song uses the word "realize" or "realign." He didn't hesitate. "Realign," Drake said. When the room reacted with surprise, he explained that the word was chosen on purpose, and that it ties straight back to the story of the show. He added that even the TV gets it wrong. "If you go and put closed caption on the TV, they get it wrong too," he said.
Drake Bell FINALLY settled the Drake & Josh theme song debate live on N3on's stream: the lyric was never “realize”, it's REALIGN, and even the closed captions get it wrong ???????? “It's gonna take some time to realign.” “Josh's dad is marrying my mom… we're gonna have to realign everything.” “Everyone thinks it's realize.”

Drake Bell explains the realign lyric
The question came from N3on's chat."Someone asked if you said realize or realign on the Drake and Josh theme song," Drake was told, before he gave his answer and sang a few lines to prove it.
The reaction in the room was instant disbelief."Seriously?" came the response, along with, "Oh, I didn't know that."
Drake admitted the confusion makes some sense, because the word doesn't rhyme the way most people expect. But he said the meaning matters more than the rhyme.
Why the song says realign
According to Drake, the lyric is about the plot of the show itself."Josh's dad is marrying my mom," he explained. "We're gonna be a blended family and we're gonna have to realign everything."
He went on to describe the situation the two characters were in."He's gonna be moving into my bedroom," Drake said, calling the song a "buddy" story about "realigning your lives" to fit "the circumstance that we're in."
That fits the show perfectly.Drake & Josh followed two very different teenagers who suddenly became stepbrothers and had to share a room, and the theme song, "Found a Way," was performed by Drake Bell himself.
Why the Drake & Josh debate still matters
Drake & Josh ran on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2007 and remains one of the network's most loved shows, with millions of fans who grew up singing the intro word for word.
That's exactly why Drake's answer caught people off guard."Everyone thinks it's realize," he said. Now, with the explanation coming straight from the man who sang it, fans finally have their answer, even if the closed captions still haven't caught up.
