Emmerdale confirms Joe and Sadie's plan to destroy Caleb and Ruby

Emmerdale's scheming Sadie King agrees to do Joe Tate's vengeful bidding next week – by seducing Caleb and destroying the Miligan marriage forever.

With her eye on the big money that Joe is willing to spend to wreak havoc on his enemies, Sadie offers to enact a brutal plot which will tear childhood sweethearts Caleb and Ruby apart.

At first, Joe asks Sadie to gather evidence against the Miligans so he can use it to destroy them. However, Joe wants nothing more than to see his hated nemesis have the love of his life ripped away from him, so he agrees when Sadie suggests that seduction is the way forward. But can Sadie really break down loyal Caleb's defences?

"Sadie is just the person for a long, calculated game of seduction," explains our Emmerdale spy. "She's set a flirtatious tone from the start with Caleb, but he's shrugged it off with amusement.

"However, he could live to regret dismissing her as someone who couldn't play in his league."

Interestingly, Sadie's strategy isn't merely focused on Caleb. Instead, she's becoming closer to Ruby too. The two women end up bonding over a drinking game played with other ladies in the village, where a few juicy secrets are disclosed. But Ruby still has her guard up, until Sadie finds a manipulative way to break it down.

"Ruby is no fool, so she knows Sadie isn't a woman to be trusted," notes our source. "However, Sadie begins to confide in her about her past, specifically telling her about a controlling relationship that almost destroyed her.

"As a survivor of abuse, Ruby identifies with the emotional impact Sadie is describing and empathises. It's a disgusting way for Sadie to circumnavigate her boundaries."

With Sadie now securing her position and building up bonds in the village, Cain Dingle is surprised to hear she's hellbent on sticking around. He's also quick to realise that Sadie has an interest in Caleb, and is immediately suspicious on what her true intentions are.

However, when Cain warns Caleb that Sadie is a skilled manipulator who is able to destroy lives, his cocky brother waves the concern away.

Cain despairs as Caleb insists he's far too clever to let Sadie run rings around him. But as she moves her plot up a gear, is Caleb going to find out what Sadie King is really made of?

Emmerdale's producer Sophie Roper commented: "Sadie King is a force to be reckoned with, but Caleb and Ruby are one of Emmerdale's most powerful couples – they have been through so much together and have only got stronger.

"Joe recruiting Sadie does, however, create a dangerous dynamic, and viewers will hopefully be shouting at their screens to warn Caleb of the dangers that lie ahead."

Meanwhile, Joe handles a brown briefcase, clearly plotting his next move of wickedness. What new horror is he set to unleash on his enemies next?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
