Carte Blanche coming up: Saving Joburg

The Sunday, 30 August episode of Carte Blanche examines Johannesburg’s decline in a new episode that explores the communities, landmarks and neighbourhoods that have come to define the city’s changing fortunes.

The programme asks what has been lost, what has been saved and what still makes Johannesburg worth fighting for, as the city increasingly becomes a symbol of urban decline.

Despite the challenges, residents across Johannesburg are pushing back, taking action to reclaim and restore their streets, parks and neighbourhoods, one community at a time.

Carte Blanche is a South African investigative journalism television series that airs on M-Net every Sunday at 19:00.

Its first episode aired on 21 August 1988 and over the last 34-plus years has earned credibility among South African viewers for its investigation into corruption, consumer issues, and current events.
