NEW DELHI: Several schools in Delhi received bomb threats via email on Tuesday, prompting security checks and searches across the affected premises.The threat email, reportedly sent in Punjabi, claimed that blasts would target courts and police stations in the national capital.The threat emails were received at around 10:17 am. The schools named among those affected include Air Force Bal Bharati School (AFBBS), Carmel Convent School and The British School.One of the threat emails carried the subject line: “B00000M|B New Dellhi Schools @ 1:11PM.”The email contained threatening messages, including: “Delhi BanayGa KHALISTAN” and “School @1:11pm Delhi valio Apne Bachay Bachao Koi ve Metro Yan Traina Vich 29 Sept Tak Safar na Karna, Delhi da har police thana Nishana iPhone Dhamake hon Ge.”The email further threatened court premises, stating: “Court @3:11pm Tees Hazari, Karkardoma Court, Patila Court Khalistan vale Sikhan Nu jhoothe case Saja karde - Ajj ton courtan te parkng Vich Lagatar Scooterian Nal Dhamake.”It also warned: “Delhi da har police chowkian Nishane te,” according to the email.Following the threats, a major security operation was launched at the affected schools. Delhi Police deployed bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units to conduct thorough searches of the premises.

Multiple fire tenders and ambulances were kept on standby as a precautionary measure. Sniffer dogs searched classrooms, corridors and open areas, while personnel from the bomb detection and disposal squads scanned the premises using specialised equipment for any possible explosive devices.Local police personnel were also deployed to manage crowds of concerned parents and maintain security around the schools.
