Ravindra Jadeja scored his 16th First-Class century for Saurashtra on the second day of the Ranji Trophy match against Chhattisgarh at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on Monday.
Jadeja was eventually caught & bowled for 102 off the bowling of Dharmendrasinh Jadeja.
Jadeja’s last red-ball assignment was the Test series in Sri Lanka.
The left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder joined Saurashtra after India’s 2-1 ODI series victory over West Indies. He featured in two matches, taking two wickets without getting an opportunity to bat, and will look to gain valuable red-ball match practice ahead of India’s two-Test tour of New Zealand next month.
The first Test is scheduled to be played in Wellington from November 19 to 23, followed by the second in Christchurch from November 27 to December 1.
The 92nd edition of India’s premier domestic First-Class competition began on October 11. Saurashtra, which exited the tournament in the early stages last season, has been placed in Elite Group B alongside Andhra, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Hyderabad, Karnataka, Punjab and Tripura.
