Police hunt suspected drug supplier to actor Revaldo
Jakarta (ANTARA) - West Jakarta police are hunting for the suspected supplier of drugs to actor Revaldo Fifaldi after investigators identified the person based on information obtained during questioning, police said here Wednesday.
West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Senior Commissioner Nasriadi said investigators had identified the supplier and were pursuing the suspect for arrest.
“We have identified the person who supplied or sold the narcotics to R. Our officers are still searching for and pursuing the suspect,” he said.
Revaldo allegedly ordered the drugs by phone and paid by bank transfer. He bought 0.5 grams of methamphetamine for Rp650,000 (US$36.65), Nasriadi said.
Revaldo was arrested on Monday after police received information about a suspected drug transaction at Altiz Apartment in South Tangerang.
“West Jakarta narcotics officers went to the address and saw a suspicious person matching the description provided, namely actor Revaldo,” Nasriadi said.
Police then arrested Revaldo and seized several pieces of evidence during a search.
Officers found three used methamphetamine packets, two lighters, three pipes, three bongs, half a tablet each of alprazolam and Xanax, two storage boxes, and Revaldo’s cellphone, he said.
Police questioned Revaldo at the scene and obtained information about the source of the drugs allegedly in his possession.
“During questioning, RF said he bought the methamphetamine for Rp650,000, ordering 0.5 grams and paying by bank transfer,” Nasriadi said.
He added that Revaldo and the seized evidence were then taken to the West Jakarta Metro Police narcotics unit for further investigation.
Revaldo has previously faced several drug cases. He was arrested in 2006 for possessing methamphetamine and sentenced to two years in prison.
He was arrested again in 2010 for possessing 62 grams of methamphetamine, and again by Jakarta Metro Police in 2023. Revaldo has previously expressed regret over his actions.
