Lego has unveiled the cast of its first ever musical feature film.

“Lego Friends: Heartlake the Musical,” based on the toy brand’s Lego Friends line, will star a host of British theater pros including Jada Langley and Gino Ochello.

The 90-minute feature, which has the potential to become Lego’s own “High School Musical,” follows Daisy (Langley), a young girl who turns to toy bricks as she finds herself trying to fit into a new school in a new country. When she stumbles across a mysterious key, she is transported to Heartlake City where she makes new friends. But they soon require her help to save a vital local landmark – with plenty of song and dance numbers along the way.

Langley recently played Joyce in the touring production of The Kinks musical “Sunny Afternoon” while Ochello is currently leading “The Karate Kid: The Musical” in London’s West End.

Also starring in the film, which is directed by Paul Becker and produced by “High School Musical’s” Kenny Ortega, are Gracie McGonigal as Autumn, Danita Walcott-Nichols as Aliya, Hannah Gracie as Paisley, Hamish Skeoch as Olly, Manuel Jenoure as Zac, Angelina Li as Liann, Darcy Jacobs as Candi, Meesha Garbett as Nova, Siubhan Harrison as Daisy’s mother, Kevin N Golding as Old Man Heart, Taylor Sullivan as Kyle and Ian Virgo as Daisy’s father.

As well as producing, Ortega, whose work includes iconic productions from “Newsies” to “Hocus Pocus,” wrote the story. The screenplay was written by Kirk R. Thatcher and Jeremy Adams. Final Pixel produced the film, which was entirely shot in the U.K.

Alongside Ortega, producers are Jill Wilfert, Hannah Brinkman, Robert Fewkes, Vicky Kjær Jensen, Hanah Draper, Michael McKenna, Keith Malone and Ryan Christians.

“Lego Friends: Heartlake the Musical” is set to premiere Oct. 16 on Netflix and Lego’s YouTube channel.
