Nuno Mendes has been ruled out for several weeks after Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) confirmed that the left back has suffered a tear in his left thigh.
The French champions revealed the details of the injury on its social media accounts on Sunday, a day after the Portugal international was substituted in the 53 minute of PSG’s 3-1 Ligue 1 win against RC Strasbourg.

Mendes’ absence marks a significant setback for PSG coach Luis Enrique, particularly with the upcoming fixture against Barcelona at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old would have been the natural choice to deal with the threat posed by Lamine Yamal who has been in outstanding form this season, scoring nine goals for Barcelona, with the Spanish side winning all 11 of its matches across La Liga and the Champions League.
With Mendes sidelined, experienced France left back Lucas Digne is expected to come into the starting line-up for the high-profile European clash set to take place in Paris.
