Riverdale and its residents have been through plenty of strange events over its nearly 85 years of history, with Archie stories jumping to the 31st Century, to territory prowled by the iconic Predator. But in a story matching darker, occult themes featured in the upcoming Sabrina the Teenage Witch series, Archie Andrews will take his darkest detour yet as he's pursued by an ancient order of cultist bent on human sacrifice, with Archie's kind nature and beloved status in the town making him the perfect target. This sets off the events of Archie in Hell #1 by Patrick Horvath and Tyler Crook, set for release on November 4, 2026.

The series itself isn't news for most folks by now, but the latest development newly unveiled by Oni Press confirms the third of an unholy trinity of variant covers is coming for Archie in Hell. The Pyre Satanic variants, each wonderfully drawn by Chloe Brailsford, had been revealed previously for Archie #1 earlier this September and October's Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1, but now, Archie in Hell #1 will get this variant treatment as well. Donning what appears to be a pilgrim outfit as he's pushed through the mind-bending crucible as terrible curses, secret rituals, and the intervention of the local witch, Archie appears bound for a fate worse than Hell soon.

It's not hard to see the vision in these variant covers, with the utter chaos compared to the ominous and malovent alter ego in Archie #1. With the synopsis of Archie in Hell #1 claiming the lovable football champion will be "damned to something worse than Hell's inner circle", this seems to be the most fractured reality of the three, with promises of absolute unpredictability and Archie's darkest story ever told. The final order cutoff date for this variant along with other announced variant covers remains to be September 28, with the copies being available for purchase when Archie in Hell #1 drops on November 4, so don't miss the chance to collect the third missing piece.
