John Cena is coming to Houston. The 17-time World Champion got officially announced for Survivor Series: WarGames on November 28 in Houston, Texas, and he revealed it himself during the November 2 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he also gave details about the upcoming John Cena Classic tournament. The retired WWE star plans to announce more names for the tournament while he's there, with Cody Rhodes already confirmed as its first participant. Cena had said before that he would be involved in picking the talent for the competition, so Survivor Series becomes another stop in that process.

John Cena will return to Survivor Series: WarGames to announce more names for his new tournament
Cena confirmed his Houston appearance while talking about the John Cena Classic on RAW. The tournament is set for December 14 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
He has already picked Cody Rhodes as the first invitee. Cena also explained that he will visit WWE programming to bring more wrestlers into the competition, including NXT, RAW, SmackDown and Survivor Series.
WWE's official social media account backed up the announcement too, confirming that Cena would return to Survivor Series on November 28.
Also, Fightful Select's Corey Brennan had reported that Cena was pencilled in for the Houston show. The planned storyline reason is that he would keep scouting talent for the tournament.
Cody Rhodes is the first John Cena Classic invitee as WWE prepares a special December event
The John Cena Classic will have its own championship, and the winner gets a custom title inspired by Cena's famous spinner WWE Championship.
RAW also showed an unusual scheduling plan for December 14. WWE will hold two editions of the show on the same day, one broadcast from Perth, Australia, and the special John Cena Classic edition at Disney World.
Cena has already praised Rhodes for his work as WWE's top star. During RAW he admitted he had underestimated him before, saying, “I was wrong. You are carrying it better than Cena could.” He also described himself as honoured to invite Rhodes into the tournament.
His schedule isn't limited to the November 28 PLE. Cena is advertised for the November 4 edition of WWE NXT too, which will feature CM Punk. So he gets another chance to talk about the tournament and maybe introduce more names before the Survivor Series announcement.
There's some history attached to Houston as well. Survivor Series 2025 was where Cena lost his first-ever Intercontinental Championship to Dominik Mysterio, and coming back to same event lands almost a year after that title loss and his retirement from in-ring competition.
No match involving Cena has been announced for the November 28 show. His confirmed job is to reveal additional participants for the John Cena Classic.
