Two minors were rescued from a creek in Barangay Pinagkaisahan, Quezon City, after they allegedly fell into the water and remained there for hours.

According to Darlene Cay's report on 24 Oras Weekend, residents and village authorities found the two victims weak and in pain at around 7 a.m. Saturday.

A resident who took a video of the rescue said he noticed a commotion in the area and saw two people in the creek.

“Mayroong nasa may sapa na dalawang tao pero hindi pa po namin alam kung anong kasarian nila, tapos may mga tumutulong pong dalawang lalaki na umaahon,” resident Emerson Vega Bon said.

Bon said he went down to the creek to find out what had happened and was told that the two victims had reportedly been in the water since Thursday night.

Responding personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) rescued the victims and wrapped them in thermal blankets.

According to SFO1 Arnel Tangkiao, the victims initially told rescuers that they had come from Baguio and had fallen into the creek.

“They could not properly answer,” Tangkiao said, noting that the victims were unable to clearly explain what happened.

The two minors were brought to East Avenue Medical Center for treatment. They reportedly complained of pain from their hips down to their legs.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) later said the two minors had been discharged from the hospital.

Police said their initial information indicated that the two were classmates. They are now under the care of their respective guardians.

The QCPD continues to investigate to determine what exactly happened to the two minors and how they ended up in the creek.— MCG, GMA News
