John Cena is coming back to WWE TV, and this time it's NXT. WWE confirmed during Tuesday's show that he'll be on the special Wednesday episode on November 4, which already has Cody Rhodes and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic final on the card. It lands just days before his scheduled return to Raw on November 2, where he has promised to share details about the John Cena Classic. The NXT show will be at the WWE Performance Center, and it's moving off its usual Tuesday slot because of election coverage on The CW.

John Cena will appear live on NXT's November 4 episode after WWE changes its weekly schedule

WWE made the announcement on the October 27 episode of NXT and also put out promotional graphic on X. Because of the schedule change, the show airs Wednesday instead of Tuesday, so NXT goes right up against AEW Dynamite's Blood & Guts special.

Cena isn't the only big name booked. Cody Rhodes will be there to present the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy to the winning team, and Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno are set to face Hank and Tank in the final. So NXT gets another tournament storyline settled on the night.

WWE hasn't said exactly what Cena will do on the show. But his return to the developmental brand comes while the John Cena Classic is still waiting on further details.

John Cena teases answers about his new tournament ahead of his WWE Raw return

Cena announced the John Cena Classic at WWE Backlash in May, but specifics have been thin since then. The tournament is expected to put NXT wrestlers up against talent from WWE's main roster, with fans voting to pick the standout performer. Cena has also suggested that match results won't be the only thing deciding the winner.

On October 27, Cena went on X to push his upcoming Raw appearance and tease an update, writing: “The wait is over, the speculation ends 11/2. Let's build this ‘Never Seen' CLASSIC! OUR time is NOW!”

Raw is set for November 2 in Brooklyn, with NXT's special episode two days after. It hasn't been confirmed whether Cena will name tournament participants or explain how wrestlers qualify. WWE still hasn't revealed the full format of the John Cena Classic, which is planned for December.
