Vitafoam extends academic infrastructure support to LASUED

Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has turned its CSR commitment into tangible educational impact, renovating a Chemistry laboratory at LASUED to enhance practical learning and support the development of science-based skills. The management of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has refurbished a Chemistry Laboratory at the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), providing improved facilities for students in the Department and creating a more conducive environment for practical learning, experimentation and scientific inquiry.

The upgrade is in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility commitment to supporting the education sector and investing in human capital development.

‎Speaking at the handover ceremony at LASUED, Ijanikin, Lagos State, recently, Vitafoam’s Group Managing Director, Taiwo Adeniyi, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting educational institutions in Nigeria and contributing to the development of quality education.

‎“Vitafoam Nigeria PLC’s operations are fundamentally rooted in chemistry, which is why initiatives that promote chemistry education are important. They provide a pathway for developing future talent for the company and the wider industry,” Adeniyi said.

‎The intervention goes beyond the physical renovation of the laboratory, as improved facilities can help bridge the gap between classroom instruction and hands-on learning. The upgraded laboratory is expected to provide students with a better-equipped environment to develop practical skills and deepen their understanding of chemistry and other science-related disciplines.

‎By supporting critical learning infrastructure, the company is contributing to efforts to strengthen science education and equip students with the knowledge and practical competencies needed for their future academic and professional pursuits.

‎Vice-Chancellor of LASUED, Professor Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, expressed appreciation for Vitafoam’s contribution and urged students and other users of the facility to maintain the upgraded laboratory. She also called on other corporate organisations to support the university, citing the need for continued investment in academic infrastructure.

‎The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Commercial Director, Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, Dahiru Gambo, and a lecturer on sabbatical, Professor Olatoun Okunnuga.
