Coronation Street airs new Jodie Ramsey mystery and Shona Platt horror in early ITVX release

Jodie Ramsey has disappeared into thin air in Coronation Street.

Fear not, Jodie fans, as the news that actress Olivia Frances Brown has signed a new year-long contract, meaning she can't have gone far.

Earlier this week, the months of torment that she inflicted on sister Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), and her twisted plans to seduce brother-in-law David (Jack P Shepherd) were uncovered, with the furious couple deciding that it was high time that she left.

As David began packing her bags, he uncovered a mysterious box that was packed full of items. From his wristwatch to a picture of Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), to DS Lisa Connor-Swain's (Vicky Myers) warrant card and a gun, it seemed like there wasn't much that Jodie hadn't siphoned away since arriving in Weatherfield.

Amid her family's horror, she insisted that the firearm was just a replica, but during a scuffle with Shona, accidentally shot herself.

Lisa rushed to the scene of the crime, and David was forced to tell a quick lie. He explained that he and Shona were in the vicinity of the house when they heard the gunshot fire out, though upon arrival into the living room, there was no sign of the culprit.

He then disposed of it a nearby canal.

In the hospital, as she recovered, Jodie thanked him and Shona for standing by her - but the ordeal was far from over. The Platts still had a lot of explaining to do, which took place in today's episode.

Lisa was confused about the incident, particularly why David had thought to call her about the recovered police badge rather than just handing it over when he saw her.

Before going to the station to give a more detailed statement, they wanted to know what Jodie had told them first. She claimed that someone was trying to burgle the house, and when she disturbed them, he shot her.

Where has Jodie gone? ITV

Shona was thankful for her clearing their names, though David stated that she couldn't play any part in the family moving forward. Jodie put on a tearful display, saying that she had nothing and nobody to turn to.

Later, the Platts bickered over what should happen to Jodie. Shona blamed herself, thinking that the incident wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for their intervention - but when she returned to the side ward, Jodie was gone!

The nurse explained that she'd discharged herself, but where did she go?
