Who is Moyin? Meet The Great British Bake Off 2026 contestant and politics student
With The Great British Bake Off returning, Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond are ready to support the 12 new hopefuls wanting to impress the judges.
As Paul Hollywood is joined by Nigella Lawson for the first time as judge, the contestants have to pull out all the stops to impress – but political economy student Moyin is hoping to get their vote.
But will he have what it takes to take home the iconic cake stand, or will he face a crash out?
Speaking to Radio Times ahead of the series, Noel said: "There's the ability of their baking, and then there's how they do in the competition. You know, over a long period, they've got a lot of baking to do. Sometimes they get tired, and how they interact with each other.
"There's a lot of factors, aren't there, that play into it, and as long as people can keep a cool head..."
Ahead of his debut in the tent, here's everything you need to know about The Great British Bake Off 2026 contestant.
Age: 22

Job: Political economy student
Moyin is a 22-year-old political economy student from Essex who is also a competitive sprinter and balances his studies with athletics, baking and a part-time job.
He started baking with his mum at only five years old and by 14 had mastered the tricky art of Macaronage – impressive! His bakes are fun and precise, with flavours inspired by his Nigerian heritage, including grains of paradise and groundnuts.
Outside of baking, Moyin loves matcha lattes, fashion, collecting vinyl and visiting comedy clubs.
Moyin described being cast for Bake Off as "a dream", saying: "When it actually happened, I was in shock. I never actually believed it until I was there - even now I still don’t believe it, still waiting for someone to pinch me! It still hasn’t started to feel real."
What is Moyin's secret baking "super power"?
Moyin prides himself on his experimentation in the kitchen, saying his super power is "not being scared to try new things".
He added: "Whenever I try something that I have never done, I see it as an opportunity to learn about a thing that I might fall in love with."
