Exercise-hungry, time-starved? Power up with this £3k vibrating platform

Exercise should be non-negotiable, not a nice-to-have. The trouble is finding time to do it. As such, tech promising enhanced, more efficient workouts gets my attention.

Cue the Power Plate MOVE: a vibrating platform designed to make every minute count. Having used one for a month, I’m smitten. Here’s why.

Power MOVE vibration exercise plate

Power MOVE

Long used by athletes and physiotherapists, vibration therapy stimulates muscle contractions to support blood circulation, strength, balance, mobility, bone health, recovery and even pelvic floor rehab.

The rapid, controlled vibrations add an extra muscular challenge to exercise, making it feel harder without adding weight or extending your session time. Sturdy, powerful and intuitive to use, the MOVE offers six frequencies and two intensity settings, plus resistance straps, a remote and an app with workouts to follow.

I used mine for everything from massage to supercharging sweaty sessions. Squats and lunges feel more demanding, while three-to-five minute “movement snacks” shoehorn meaningful movement into busy days.

The downsides? Size and price. It’s a hefty bit of kit, unlikely to suit bijou city spaces. It’s also a serious investment. But if, like me, you’re forever trying to squeeze movement into tiny slivers of crazy days, it’s an appealing nice-to-have.
