Since its launch back in 2024, Star Wars: Unlimited has become the official trading card game for fans of all things Star Wars. Published by Fantasy Flight Games, its first set, Spark of Rebellion, was released in March 2024, and since then, it has welcomed multiple expansion packs, each with their own unique art as opposed to just using film stills.

Sharing design elements with the ultimate TCG, Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars: Unlimited tasks two players with competing against each other in a best-of-three format. With each player needing a deck consisting of at least 50 cards plus a leader and a base card, the winner is the player who destroys their opponent's base first.

For the past two years, Star Wars: Unlimited has been the must-have for Star Wars fans looking for the ultimate TCG experience and with plenty of more content on the docket, there has never been a better time to start.

"Since launching in 2024, Star Wars: Unlimited has rapidly grown into a global organized play ecosystem supported by thousands of tournaments, tens of thousands of players, and official events across more than forty countries," reads a statement by Fantasy Flight Games.

On top of that, live competitions often take place around the world with multiple events taking place in August. However, from October 30 to Nov 1, players interested in competing in Star Wars: Unlimited can head to Utrecht, Netherlands for the Regional Championships.

On top of the Regional Championships, the hit TCG will also be welcoming a brand-new pack in October 2026. Star Wars: Unlimited – Homeworlds will launch alongside 260+ new cards, including the following features:

  • Spotlight decks featuring Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin
  • Two new token types: Beast and Weakness
  • The introduction of the new Fortify keyword, allowing players to play upgrades on their bases for the first time in Star Wars: Unlimited
  • Grand Moff Tarkin, the Spotlight deck leader, is the game's first leader capable of deploying as the Death Star, "fundamentally changing late-game strategy" writes FFG, which seems like an understatement given that few people can transmogrify into a moon-sized vehicle

Marking the ninth set in the Star Wars: Unlimited collection, hundreds of unique cards are now available, and the roadmap does not end there. According to Fantasy Flight Games, there are a whopping five more sets dropping throughout 2027. This includes:

  • Icons 2027 Edition
  • Legacy of Skywalker
  • System Overload
  • Icons 2028 Edition
  • Galaxy at War

So, if you are looking to get stuck into Star Wars: Unlimited for the first time, now is your perfect opportunity to catch up ahead of another batch of stunning sets.
