Blondie Announce First Album in Nine Years

Translate

Blondie are readying their first album in nearly a decade. Debbie Harry and Chris Stein have enlisted Johnny Marr, Sex Pistols’ Glen Matlock, and Beirut’s Zach Condon, among others, to guest on the LP. A single called “Spectral Eyes,” penned and played-on by Marr, is out now. Listen below. Out February 26, 2027, via BMG, the album is the last to feature the new-wave titans’ co-founding drummer Clem Burke, who died at 70 last year.

Harry said in a press release, “This album is classic Blondie—an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new. This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we're living now.”

Stein added, “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the fuck I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.”

High Noon follows 2017’s Pollinator, as well as interim releases including Vivir en la Habana, the accompaniment to a live film of the same name. Like Pollinator, the new record is produced by John Congelton; David Wrench provides additional production and mixing. Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius
