Azalina: Chief Registrar must address PAC concerns over e-Jamin

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chief Registrar of the Federal Court must respond to concerns raised by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) over the use of the e-Jamin bail system, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

Azalina said e-Jamin falls under the court's purview and that questions about its current status should be directed to the Chief Registrar.

"e-Jamin needs to be asked of the Chief Registrar because it is under the courts. I see what was raised by PAC as a reprimand that the Chief Registrar needs to respond to.

"We have informed the Chief Registrar, and perhaps they will issue a statement," she said.
