AFI makes SRY Gene Test mandatory for all athletes from 2027
The Athletics Federation of India will make SRY Gene Tests mandatory for participation in all AFI-approved competitions from 2027, subject to legal formalities.

The Athletics Federation of India, at its Emergent Executive Council Meeting held on September 19 2026, has made the SRY Gene Test mandatory for participation in all AFI-approved competitions across all age categories, with effect from the year 2027, subject to the completion of all legal formalities.
