Joao Pedro Wins Premier League Player Of The Month Award For August

Chelsea Brazil international Joao Pedro has been named the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026.

The Blues confirmed Pedro as the winner in a statement on their official website on Friday.

“It is the first time Joao Pedro has received the Premier League Player of the Month award and he becomes the first Chelsea player to win it in almost two years, since Cole Palmer got his second in September 2024.

“Palmer was nominated again this time around but Joao Pedro finished ahead of his Blues team-mate and six other shortlisted players in the public vote to take home the prize.

“That comes after a flying start to the 2026/27 season for our Brazilian striker, as he registered four goal contributions in our opening two matches of our Premier League campaign, helping us to claim victory in both of them.

“That began when he started the scoring just 33 seconds into our opening game at Fulham, before setting up Palmer’s winning goal later in that match. It was the same story in our first home game of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion, when Joao Pedro found the net with a tidy finish before teeing up Cole for the decisive goal.

“Those performances convinced fans around the world to cast their vote for Joao Pedro as a deserving winner of the August Premier League Player of the Month award.
