The GMA Kapuso Foundation is rehabilitating 37 classrooms in Davao Oriental following the two strong earthquakes that hit the province in October 2025.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, the Kapuso classrooms were built in 2012 after the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Pablo.
They belong to the following schools: Boston Central Elementary School (11), Cateel Central Elementary School (10), Kinablangan Central Elementary School (8), Abijod Elementary School (2), and Saoquigue Elementary School (2).
"Upon checking, the classrooms have no major damage. We have just seen minor cracks that we need to fix. Some plastering were already peeled off at the same time we have seen deterioration due to the passage of time," GMA Kapuso Foundation's Supervising Engineer Arnel Zantua said in a mix of English and Filipino.
Windows and doors have been replaced and comfort rooms are also being renovated. The classrooms are also being repainted.
The rehabilitation efforts are expected to be done by December.
