Bruce Springsteen & Alex Warren to Play Stand Up for Heroes on 20th Anniversary of Veterans Benefit Show

Bruce Springsteen is returning for another year of supporting veterans at the annual Stand Up for Heroes event, which in 2026 is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a lineup that also includes Alex Warren, Jon Stewart and more.

As announced Tuesday (Aug. 25), The Boss will perform at the event — which raises money for members of the military facing injury or illness, as well as their families — on Nov. 9 at Lincoln Center in New York City. The Billboard Hot 100-topping “Ordinary” singer will also contribute live music in addition to The Resilient, a band that includes wounded U.S. combat veterans. Stewart, Josh Johnson and Hasan Minhaj are locked in to deliver comedy sets.

It marks a special milestone for Stand Up for Heroes, which is entering its 20th year of providing entertainment in partnership with the New York Comedy Festival to champion one of the country’s most vulnerable populations. Since 2007, the event — presented by Bob Woodruff Foundation — has raised $117 million for veterans, their families and caregivers.

“Twenty years ago we put together Stand Up for Heroes with a simple idea: bring people together with laughter and music in honor of those who have sacrificed so much for our country,” Bob Woodruff said in a statement. “When we started this way back in 2007, we thought it would just be a one-time concert. But it’s become one of the most meaningful nights of the year.”

This year’s benefit will take place three days into the 2026 New York Comedy Festival, which will run from Nov. 6 to Nov. 15 with a lineup spanning Adam Friedland, Ilana Glazer, Jordan Klepper, Ms. Pat, Sarah Sherman, Ziwe and more comics. The festival’s founder, Caroline Hirsch, added of Stand Up for Heroes, “What started as a single night has grown into a powerful and enduring tradition … as we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to continuing to honor our heroes and share their stories for years to come.”

Springsteen has a nearly perfect attendance record at Stand Up for Heroes, appearing at almost every one of the annual showcases since 2007. Over the years, musicians such as Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, The Lumineers, John Mayer, John Mellencamp and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have performed, as well as comedians like Stephen Colbert, Jim Gaffigan, Shane Gillis, Seth Meyers, Tracy Morgan, John Mulaney, Trevor Noah, Conan O’Brien, Jerry Seinfeld and Robin Williams.
