The organizers emphasize that even small donations can support collective conservation efforts.

The observance of Tamaraw Conservation Month is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 273, series of 2002, which established the annual celebration to promote awareness and protection of the species.

The tamaraw (Bubalus mindorensis) is found only on Mindoro island.

The endangered animal is considered as one of the Philippines’ important wildlife conservation priorities.

The San Jose municipal government is urging residents to take part in safeguarding the species and in preserving the province’s natural heritage for future generations. /apl
