TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Antipolo traffic rerouting plan implemented for drainage canal renovation

Antipolo Mayor Casimiro "Jun" Ynares III has announced that a traffic rerouting plan will be in place starting on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 to give way to the renovation of a drainage canal.

He is referring to the renovation work on the drainage canal at L. Sumulong Memorial Circle, near Taktak Road and Daang Bakal Road, Barangay de la Paz in Antipolo City.

During the construction period, half of the road in the construction area will be temporarily closed.

This means that the portion of L. Sumulong Memorial Circle that is under construction will be temporarily one-way, heading towards Sumulong Highway.

"It will be busy for sure, but to minimize the inconvenience, heavy construction works will be carried out at night," Ynares said in his announcement.

The motorists going to HAMAKA Park or Ortigas Avenue Extension can use Pinagmisahan Street as an alternative route. This road will remain two-way, so vehicles can still pass through it in both directions.

"This work will affect our daily commute. So please be extra careful, respect traffic signage, and obey traffic personnel. We are busy now for better water flow and safer roads in the coming days," the mayor also said. — BAP, GMA News
