On FPJ’S birthday, Brian Poe mobilizes Pangasinan relief efforts for thousands

PANGASINAN, Philippines — To commemorate the birthday of National Artist Fernando Poe Jr. on Aug. 20, FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-List Rep. Brian Poe, grandson of the late actor, led continuing relief efforts across Pangasinan, providing food packs and hot meals to thousands of families affected by successive storms, prolonged rains, and flooding throughout the province.
Poe said the relief effort was a fitting way to honor FPJ’s legacy by continuing his lifelong connection with ordinary Filipinos and turning his birth commemoration into a day of service and bayanihan.
The latest operation was held Thursday, Aug. 20, in San Carlos City, where 600 flood-affected families received essential food packs containing rice, coffee, and canned goods as communities continued to recover from weeks of heavy rainfall.

“There is no better way to celebrate FPJ’s birthday than by helping our fellow Filipinos. He was loved because he always stood with ordinary people, especially those who needed someone on their side. We honor his memory by continuing that spirit of service and bayanihan,” Poe said.
“In times of hardship, especially during disasters, we cannot turn our backs on our fellow Filipinos who need help the most. Our immediate priority is to make sure affected families have food and basic assistance while they recover,” he added.
Poe also reminded Pangasinenses to remain alert, prepared, and safe as communities continue to deal with the effects of severe weather and flooding.
FPJ Panday Bayanihan said its teams will continue coordinating with local government officials, barangay councils, social welfare officers, youth volunteers, and community leaders to identify areas requiring assistance and respond to the needs of affected residents.
