Fallout has a ton of potential, and it feels like Bethesda has only scratched the surface. Since Bethesda has taken over the franchise, we've visited Washington, D.C., Boston, Las Vegas, West Virginia, and more. DLC has taken us to the far reaches of the United States, including Alaska, and even the far reaches of space in Mothership Zeta.

Now, fans are wondering where Fallout 5 is going to take us. In the end, the only thing to do for now is wait until Fallout 5 hits and hope the Obsidian-led Fallout comes before that, along with the third season of the TV show. However, the official Fallout X account just shared some news, and celebrations are coming to multiple games, including Fallout 4.

Bethesda has pulled back the curtain on "Fallout Day" this year, and it's a multi-day celebration of the series. Here's the full announcement: "This year, we’re celebrating Fallout Day a little differently. While there won’t be a live broadcast, we’ll have something new to celebrate each day across our social channels, including YOU, the community, rad partnerships, existing Fallout titles, and a first look at the Fallout 76 World Pets update."

On Monday, October 19, the events will kick off, starting with community spotlights and Wasteland giveaways. It's community day, so there isn't much in the way of actual game updates. On October 20, however, the focus will shift to Fallout Shelter and Fallout 4, featuring Fallout Shelter updates and Fallout 4 Creations.

Then on October 21, we get the Partnerships Day, celebrating collaborations and out-of-game experiences, similar to Community Day. On October 22, Fallout 76 will get some love, as Bethesda provides another update on the World Pets patch. Finally, Fallout Day will take place on October 23.

Fallout Day Celebrations 2026

For the uninitiated, Fallout Day takes place on October 23 each year and marks the time when the Great War started in the original Fallout storyline. For the last two years, Bethesda ran a "Fallout Day Broadcast," which provided new musical tracks for fans to listen to, as well as related news and announcements, on top of merchandise reveals.

It was a pretty exciting time for fans, but sadly the 2026 broadcast has been canceled ahead of time. It seems Bethesda is hard at work on the series as a whole and Fallout 5, but 2027 promises to be even bigger, with a Washington D.C. celebration in-person. For Fallout fans, October is an exciting time to get together and unite under the same banner of the series they love. Going forward, we can also get excited about Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remasters, as well as a new Fallout game from Obsidian.

They're also used to being patient, since Bethesda can take its sweet time delivering any given entry in a franchise, especially when it comes to The Elder Scrolls. At least Fallout enthusiasts have the TV show and other side projects to distract them from delays and late starts.
