Emmerdale star Patsy Kensit opens up over her love life

Emmerdale star Patsy Kensit has opened up about her love life, saying she's "not a hopeless romantic anymore". The actor, who plays Sadie King on the soap, has previously been married four times, between 1988 and 2010.
Kensit's ex-husbands include musician Dan Donovan, Simple Minds lead singer Jim Kerr, Oasis star Liam Gallagher, and DJ Jeremy Healy. She was most recently engaged to property developer Patric Cassidy, before the pair split three years ago.
"I'm single. It is what it is," Kensit said in an interview with Fabulous. "I'm not a hopeless romantic anymore and that’s something that I've always been.

"I can honestly say that the last five years have knocked that right out the window, and I'm really happy with reality."
She added: "This is a really big thing for me to say because I love being in love, but it's just not a priority anymore."
Agreeing that her life has been full of "amazing highs and lows", the star said she is now "genuinely happy and very content". When asked if she hopes to get married again, she replied: "I honestly don't know."
"Really, I'm just interested in work and my cat. I realise that how quiet I like to live my life can be hard for someone to understand, but I've got to protect my peace."

During her four-year marriage to Kerr, Kensit gave birth to their son James in 1993. She and Gallagher welcomed their son Lennon in 1999, two years after they tied the knot.
Though the actor has an empty nest now that her kids are grown up, she shared that she doesn't "feel alone at all".
"My life is full of great things and great opportunities that I'm really thankful for. I'm 58, and where I am in my life is a good place to be," Kensit explained. "As a single mum bringing them up, you just want them to be happy. They're both off doing their things and I see them and hear from them whenever I can.
"I miss them so much. I mean, they're everything to me, but it’s like any mum or dad will say, as kids get older they need you less."
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
