Anambra plans tracker for state infrastructure’s monitoring, maintenance
The Anambra State Government is set to launch a digital platform, “DocTracker”, which will provide information on state infrastructure, from the contract award stage through completion, as well as the maintenance phase.
The state ministry of works and infrastructure explained that the platform will provide an opportunity for input by road users and other residents regarding the status of the infrastructure over time.
It was developed by the Anambra State Information and Communication Technology Agency as a melting pot for the government, contractors, and the people for ease of accountability, sustainability and feedback.
The platform, when operational in the coming weeks, is targeted mainly at the ownership of state infrastructure by Anambra State residents, at various stages of project execution in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s mantra that every kobo of Anambra’s money is devoted to working for Ndi Anambra.
Reviewing the DocTracker platform at the Ministry of Works complex on Monday, the Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Okey Ezeobi, noted that any project undertaken by the state government is a public infrastructure that is collectively owned by the people who are therefore entitled to protect it.

“Any project undertaken by the state government is a public infrastructure that is collectively owned by the people who are therefore entitled to protect it.
“This is because roads and infrastructure are built to serve the people, so the people should own them. Through the platform, the state will be getting feedbacks and reviews on the infrastructure,” Ezeobi added.
Explaining the platform further, the Managing Director of Anambra State ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, noted that the platform integrates project tracking and maintenance for accountability, monitoring, and public ownership.
After the review, the Commissioner for Works and the MD of the ICT Agency, projected that the DocTracker will be launched in the coming weeks after further features have been added to strengthen the platform towards serving its full purpose in meeting the collective aspiration of Ndi Anambra on public infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the members of the Ministry of Works staff are currently undergoing training by the ICT Agency on relevant information technology know-how useful for discharging the Ministry’s mandate.
