Police officers encountered a real-life Hot Fuzz moment as they tried to capture a runaway swan on a busy road.
The white bird brought traffic to a halt on the aptly named Swannery Bridge in Weymouth, Dorset, at about 7.30pm on Thursday.
Police arrived on the scene a short time later and blocked the road as the swan waddled towards the carriageway.
The officers carefully approached the bird in an attempt to shoo it back into Radipole Lake, which runs beneath the bridge.
After a five minute stand-off the bird got the message and re-entered the water.
In the 2007 comedy movie Hot Fuzz, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, their police officer characters are called out to capture a troublemaking swan.
They are famously asked, 'no luck catching them swans, then?' throughout the film by locals in the fictional town of Sandford as they struggle to track down the suspect with a 'long, slender neck'.

The runaway bird caused traffic chaos after landing on the busy road near Nottingham.
Officers found the bird waddling in the road and managed to capture it more easily than Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's characters in the comedy film.
The swan was then given a ride in the police car and returned to a nearby lake at Attenborough Nature Reserve in Nottingham.
Pictures showed a male officer grappling with the swan and wrapping it in his hi-vis jacket and another of the bird in the footwell of the back passenger seat.
In a post on X, Nottinghamshire Police said: 'Our officers weren't swanning about last week when a swan needed rescuing from the M1.
'It was the swan's turn for a ride in a police car, but thankfully it was heading to much sunnier climes than a custody suite.
'The swan was returned to the Attenborough Nature Reserve.'

Earlier that year, officers escorted a young swan out of Bath city centre.
One officer in Bath used a fluorescent police jacket to usher the wayward swan towards the river as shoppers pulled out their phones to snap the scene.
Locals were baffled as the young swan was seen strolling past a café and shops.
Simon Galloway, 59, said: 'I was just out shopping with my wife and daughter, and we noticed a bit of commotion outside the shop.
'That was when we saw a cygnet being escorted down the street, presumably down to the river.
'There were loads of shoppers around, everyone had their phones out, laughing. A few dog walkers seemed quite amused, too.'
