Taylor Swift is heaping some major praise on Phoebe BridgersLost Weekend, as the pop star called Bridgers’ first album in six years “a gift” while wishing her one-time collaborator a happy birthday on Monday.

“It’s her birthday but she gave us a gift,” Swift wrote on her Instagram story Monday, accompanied by the album artwork for Bridgers’ third album. “Haven’t been able to stop listening. This album is an absolute triumph in every way. To write about grief with such vulnerability and detail, and to trust the listener with this much honesty. Happy bday @phoebebridgers I love you!!”

Bridgers made her much-anticipated return with Lost Weekend last Friday, marking the beloved indie star’s first new solo album since 2020’s Punisher. She’s taking the album on the road this fall with a phones-free arena tour set to begin in September in Indianapolis.

That Swift would be among the legions of fans listening in on Bridgers’ latest work isn’t surprising. The two are friends and Swift featured Bridgers on the Red (Taylor’s Version) track “Nothing New.” Bridgers also served as an opening act during Swift’s 2023 Eras Tour, playing nine dates on the tour at Nissan Stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, Gillette Stadium and MetLife Stadium.

While Lost Weekend marked Bridgers’ first solo album in six years, she’s hardly been off the scene, taking her career to new highs with supergroup Boygenius and their 2023 album The Record. The album won a Grammy for best alternative music album, while “Not Strong Enough” won for best rock performance and best rock song.

Beyond her music, Bridgers is also set to make her acting debut in Primetime next month as well.
