Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - Denpasar Immigration officers in Bali are hunting for two foreigners suspected of illegally working as motorcycle riding instructors for foreign tourists, an official said.

"Our team gave chase, but they managed to flee," Denpasar Immigration Chief R. Haryo Sakti said in Denpasar, the capital of Bali Province, on Thursday.

Sakti said the incident occurred on Friday, September 25, when immigration officers were conducting a routine patrol in Serangan Village, Denpasar.

Denpasar's Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement team detained two other foreigners suspected of being customers of the illegal motorcycle riding school.

An investigation identified the two students as Belarusian nationals RO, a 20-year-old man, and IA, a 21-year-old woman. Both Belarusian nationals hold Remote Worker Limited Stay Permits, Sakti added.

"They will be summoned to the Immigration Office for further questioning to help track down the fleeing illegal instructors," Sakti said.

The patrol covered Serangan and Tukad Punggawa Street, both busy tourist areas in Denpasar, to monitor the activities of foreigners and ensure compliance with immigration regulations.

Sakti said the regular patrols demonstrate the state's presence in maintaining public order and protecting the interests of the local community.

Meanwhile, Bali Regional Immigration Office Chief Ramdhani stressed that all foreigners in Bali must obey local regulations and strictly comply with the conditions of their permits.

"We will continue to strengthen targeted surveillance across the region," Ramdhani said.
