‘You all feed off Nigerians pain’ — Sowore blasts Davido, Adeleke family in war of words

Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore have engaged in a heated exchange on social media following comments about Ademola Adeleke, the Osun State governor and Davido’s uncle.

The disagreement began after Sowore criticised Adeleke during a recent interview on the forthcoming Osun governorship election.

In the interview, Sowore described the governor as “brainless” and said he had “nothing upstairs”. He also criticised the state of infrastructure in Osogbo, the state capital, describing the city as a “war zone”.

Davido later shared a clip of the interview on X and responded by calling Sowore an “Arindin”, a Yoruba term used to describe someone considered foolish or unintelligent.

Sowore subsequently responded to Davido, arguing that the description was more appropriate for Adeleke.

The activist also criticised the governor’s political record, particularly his decision to support President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.

Sowore further accused the Adeleke family of treating Osun as a “private estate” to finance their lifestyle, describing them as “oppressive, corrupt, incompetent, and entitled”.

Responding directly to Davido, Sowore wrote: “The real arindin is your uncle, @AAdeleke_01, who had to go back and obtain the equivalent of a GED after he had already served as a Nigerian Senator,”

He added: “The real arindin is your uncle who chose @officialABAT as his presidential candidate, apparently hoping that imbecilic political loyalty would allow your family to continue treating Osun state as a private estate to finance your extravagant lifestyle.

“All of you are the same anyway, oppressive, corrupt, incompetent, and entitled spoilt brats, feeding off the pain, suffering, and sorrow of Nigerians. But the tables will turn. The Nigerian people will not endure this forever.”
