Anambra First Lady receives social impact leadership award

Anambra State First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, has received the National Leadership Conference 2026 Award in recognition of her contributions to social impact and community development.

Soludo, who is also the founder of the non-governmental organisation, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, received the award at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, on Saturday.

The award, organised by the GOTNI Leadership Centre, is in the category of Excellence in Social Impact Leadership, which recognises individuals whose leadership and initiatives have made significant contributions to improving the lives of people and communities.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the GOTNI Leadership Centre, Linus Okorie, expressed delight at conferring the NLC 2026 Award on the First Lady, saying her social impact and humanitarian activities earned her the award.

“We are delighted to honour you as the ‘National Leadership Conference 2026’ award recipient in the category of Excellence in Social Impact Leadership.

“This recognition celebrates your leadership, contribution and impact, and we look forward to more social impact and humanitarian activities.”

The former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, presented the award to Adaora Soludo, who represented her mother at the ceremony.

Responding to the honour in a press statement she released on Sunday, Soludo said she received the honour with deep gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility, dedicating it to everyone who had contributed, in one way or another, to the growth and impact of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.

The statement read, “Yesterday in Abuja, I received the ‘National Leadership Conference 2026’ Award for Excellence in Social Impact Leadership, and I receive this honour with deep gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility.

“I dedicate this special recognition to every person who has contributed, in one way or another, to the growth and impact of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.

“To our volunteers, coordinators, partners, health workers, teachers, community leaders and every member of our great team who continues to give their time, energy and heart to this work, thank you. Your tireless efforts are the reason Healthy Living has grown into a crusade touching lives across Anambra and beyond.

“My dear daughter, Adaora Ifeatu Soludo, received the award on my behalf today, and I am especially grateful and proud that she could represent me at this important moment.

“We will keep showing up, keep serving and keep doing the work. There is still so much more to do. Thank you, GOTNI Leadership Centre, for this recognition, and thank you to everyone who has made the Healthy Living journey what it is today. I love you all so much.”
