President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s satisfaction ratings fell to -11 points, according to a recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
In its latest survey released on Thursday, the SWS found that as of September 2026, around 35% of Filipino adults were satisfied with Marcos’ performance, 20% were undecided and 46% were dissatisfied.
Put together, this resulted in a net satisfaction score of -11, which the polling firm designated as “poor”. This is a four point decline from his -7 rating in June, which the SWS labeled as “neutral”.
However, this latest score remains higher than Marcos’ record low score of -15 in March 2026.
Marcos’ net satisfaction rating was the highest in Balance Luzon at neutral net zero, followed by a poor rating of -13 in Visayas, a poor waiting of -21 in Mindanao, and another poor rating of -27 in Metro Manila.
In all areas except Mindanao, Marcos’ satisfaction ratings fell from his June 2026 survey results. His satisfaction ratings in Balance Luzon fell by 11 points from +11, 10 points from -3 in Visayas, three points from -24 in Metro Manila.
Marcos’ net satisfaction ratings in Mindanao eased however, rising by 14 points from -35 in June.
The survey was conducted from September 21 to 27, using face to face interviews with 1,500 adults. A total of 600 of them came from Balance Luzon or Luzon areas outside of Metro Manila, while 300 respondents each came from Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao.
There was a sampling error of ±3% for national percentages, ±4% for Balance Luzon, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
SONA reception
The survey also asked respondents about Marcos’ penultimate State of the Nation Address (SONA). It said around 47% of Filipinos have heard of Marcos’ SONA, with most of them getting their information from social media.
The SWS said that 53% of Filipinos did not hear or read about the SONA.
Among those who did watch the SONA, 27% watched the address on Facebook and other websites, 15% heard about it on television, 12% watched it live on television, 4% heard about it from other people, 3% listened to stories about it on the radio, 1% listened to the SONA live on the radio, listened to it live on the radio, and 0.4% read about it on newspapers.
Those who watched the SONA were also asked how believable they found Marcos’ speech to be.
From this group, only 13% said that Marcos’ speech was all believable, and another 13% said that it was more believable than unbelievable. Meanwhile, 37% said that the believable and unbelievable were equal.
Around 22% said that the speech was more unbelievable than believable, and 15% said that it was all unbelievable.
Put together, this was equal to a net believability score of -11. This was down by -8 from his speech’s score of -3 in September 2025.
The SWS found that Marcos’ net satisfaction rating was the same whether or not the respondents listened to the SONA. —RF, GMA News
